About St. Louis BBQ and it's people...

Authentic St. Louis BBQ begins with the Civil War and Missouri's culture at the time. The majority of barbeque St. Louis is known for comes from African Americans, many of whom where enslaved at the time cooking out of literal "BBQ pits", which was a practice that was passed down to them for native Indians.  This section is dedicated to the history, but also the people who currently contribute to the evolution of Missouri's'  BBQ, and of course the great eateries throughout St. Louis and it's surrounding cities.
